At the Yolo County Chaplaincy, our work is grounded in a clear and unwavering commitment: to stand alongside people in moments when support matters most.

Every day, our chaplains respond to situations marked by crisis, loss, uncertainty, and transition. We serve those who serve: first responders, medical personnel, and community members, offering emotional and spiritual care that is compassionate, steady, and respectful of every individual’s beliefs and experiences.

We operate from the conviction that presence matters. In times of distress, a calm voice, a listening ear, and a nonjudgmental presence can make a lasting difference. Our role is not to lead, but to walk alongside and bring care, clarity, and humanity into difficult moments.

But our mission is not only about responding to crisis after it happens. We are also committed to helping first responders process the cumulative weight of what they see, carry, and absorb over the course of a career. Through ongoing support, trusted relationships, and healthy processing, we want to help those who serve our communities make it to the end of their careers healthy, grounded, and whole.

This work is sustained by dedicated volunteers, strong partnerships, and a community that understands the importance of caring for one another. Together, we are strengthening resilience and ensuring that no one has to face hardship alone.

It is a privilege to lead an organization committed to this mission and to serve a community that values compassion, dignity, and connection.
